Utility Wide Track Systems

Utility's recently-developed Wide Track System includes a Hendrickson air ride slider with 6" wider suspension center and 6" longer axles. It can be used with any industry-standard wheel end bearing system without a reduction in bearing life or gross axle weight rating. The Utility Wide Track is ideally suited to take advantage of the weight savings and increased fuel economy of wide base tires.

4000D-X 101 4,085 Cubic Feet of Productivity A full 101-1/4" of inside width from lining to lining and 101" from wearband to wearband providing 4085 cubic feet for greater productivity.

4000D-X 100 Deeper Side Posts with Increased Stiffness Ideal for "bulge" loads . Three 80,000 psi galvanized steel side post designs offer more specification versatility to meet your hauling requirements...and still provides 100" of inside width.

Utility's stainless steel rear door frame is engineered for low maintenance, lower life cycle costs, and high durability. For added stiffness to resist dock impact damage, the stainless steel buck plate features a Vs" thick bang plate and light protection bars. Utility's design provides I 10" of door opening.

Strongest Integrated Threshold Plate

"Squeeze" Riveted Lining Panels

For maximum strength and durability, the threshold plate is fully welded to both the buck plate and the 24" deep side gussets. Extra floor support is built in with two 5 /•" deep steel channel cross members welded to both the slider sub frame and the bottom of the threshold plate.

80,000 psi lining panels are "squeeze" riveted to both the outer skin and side posts, forming a snag free, high strength sandwich panel with fully recessed fasteners that won't work loose for greater durability.

Heavy Duty King Pin Assembly

10" High Galvanized Steel Wearband

The entire king pin assembly is completely sealed, inside and out with a rust preventive coating. 3/8" diameter "squeezed" stainless steel rivets positively attach the king pin section to the bottom rails. For increased pick up strength, the approach plate is turned up a full 12" and is supported by six formed hi-tensile steel channels.

Low-profile, 80,000 psi high tensile, galvanized steel wearband provides added impact protection, strength, and stiffness.

Rugged Side Posts

For greater strength and lower tare weight, aerospace style wing plates feature collared holes and embossed ribs while additional reliability is provided by formed channel "X" braces. Web stiffeners between front and rear pairs of cross members are designed to absorb uncoupling impact.

Our 80,000 psi galvanized steel side posts are designed and torture-track tested for maximum strength and durability . Type "A" logistic slots on 8" or 4" vertical centers (depending on model) provide added versatility for cargo securement.

High Strength Front Wall for Less Maintenance

Unique Design Increases Strength and Payloads

Extruded aluminum, 6" radius corner posts provide square loading and are easy to maintain. Steel "tees" and corner post end plates are welded to the approach plate for added durability.

Utility's patented design uses .050 skin in high stress areas to provide strength and .040 skin in low stress areas to lower tare weight and increase payloads.

Modular Electrical System Lowers Maintenance and Downtime

80K, pre-coated steel cross-members are attached to the bottom rails with four Vs" squeezed rivets for superior strength. Flooring planks are also pre-undercoated for 100% coverage to extend floor life. Special sealant is applied between each floorboard seam and Utility-designed gaskets are installed between the outer boards and bottom rails for protection against leaks.

Externally-mounted gladhands and nose box allow for easy access and maintenance. Modular, sealed wiring harness provides 100% plug-in connectors. Lower rear side clearance lights are recessed and protected, and stop, turn, and tail lights are grounded through the harness.

White Lining Panels

D.O.T. Rated Dock Bumper

.019" 80,000 psi galvanized steel interior lining panels are pre-painted white for maximum durability and greater light reflection. Fork truck drivers see better, reducing interior damage.

Utility's high-strength bumper assembly is integrated into the rear threshold assembly and fully complies with D.O.T. requirements.

Air Ride Suspension

Roof Designed to Keep Freight "Dry"

Standard air ride suspension is designed to provide load protection as well as driver comfort. Integrated axle mounting design reduces fatigue and increases service life.

Utility's uniquely engineered roof structure features bi-directionally tensioned .040 roof skin with reinforcing plates at all four corners, plus full-length edge-capping strips to prevent moisture entry. The roof skin is supported by epoxy bonded, I" deep, anti-snag roof bows. Our wrap-around front rail and mechanically-formed roof skin edges keep your payload dry.
